I actually believe I was shaking. I certainly had sweaty hands. That’s how nervous I was. I felt like all of my opponents would put their critical eyes on me and say
– Wow! What an incredibly awful newbie!
How’d I do?
Horrendously. I sucked – balls.
But I didn’t hear it from the others. Instead I got a couple of nice messages on which things I could improve on (those were the days – when CoD players actually helped each other…)
The point is I know how you feel. I know what it’s like to enter your very first match online. I know damned well how it feels when nerves and adrenalin take full control over your body.
And I know all too well the bitter taste a lot of newbies experience when they’ve been slaughtered and humiliated in their online debut.
The Light in the Tunnel
